FISHER'S SEARCH FOR A NEW MANAGER
AFC Fisher are looking for a first team manager to develop and guide a team in the Kent League (subject to their AGM on 18 June).  The board are looking for someone with committment, drive, an understanding of local football and who is prepared to be part of the start.  The position would be unpaid.

We are looking to make an early appointment to ensure we can grow and gel a competitive team in time for the new season.  The club is actively seeking a pre-season programme to ensure the successful candidate has the maximum time to develop their squad for the big kick-off.

29 May 2009 - AFC Fisher born

Last night a meeting was held at Fisher Downside in Bermondsey by the clubs supporters, young and old. The end result being the formation of a Fisher Supporters Trust with thirty-seven founding members. The newly formed ST will not be a limited company but a member's club who will pay an annual subscription. Although one long standing supporter announced he would pledge £5000.00 to the club as an interest free loan.

First elections were also held last night with both Barry Albin-Dyer and Martin Eede agreeing to carry on in their respective roles as Club President and Chairman after a majority vote. Former Press Officer Joe Arif will move across and assist Martin Eede as Fixture & Club Secretary. Tim Rodgers after a three year break will return to his former role as Programme Editor and Press Officer. Ben Westmancott was appointed Club Treasurer. Six Club Officers without Portfolio were also appointed.

AFC Fisher was agreed as a working title for the new club and assurances were received that the Fish would still be allowed to play at Champion Hill for the forthcoming season. The FA have agreed that AFC Fisher will play in the Bulmers Kent League for campaign 2009/10.

The Kent Leagues AGM is the 18th June and the AFC Fisher Supporters Trust will hold the next general meeting at Champion Hill Stadium on Monday 22nd June at 7:30pm. The new clubs name and matters on the pitch will no doubt be high on the agenda.

Supporters unable to make last nights meeting are all very welcome to attend on June 22nd.
